How it is calculated
Korea's minimum wage in 2026
The 2026 minimum wage in Korea is ₩10,320 per hour, up 2.9% from 2025. For a full-time 40-hour week, the monthly minimum is ₩2,156,880 based on 209 paid hours, which already includes weekly holiday pay. It applies to every worker in Korea, including foreigners, students and part-timers.
What is weekly holiday pay (주휴수당)?
If you work 15 hours or more a week and attend all your scheduled days, you are entitled to one paid day off per week. For a 40-hour week that is 8 extra paid hours; for shorter weeks it is proportional (weekly hours ÷ 40 × 8). Many part-time workers miss out on this money, so check that your employer pays it.
